As usual, I'm coming in late on this one:
Beginning of the second half: Biedrins looks amazing. This guy is raw but he's somewhere between Nene and Amare. Great ability to finish, strong rebounding, combined with zero ability to shoot outside of 10 feet.
GS immediately goes on a mini-run. Dallas calls time out after Jackson buries a wide open three to make the margin 8.
Call it gimmicky, but there's definitely something to the Don Nelson offense. In the NBA, you cannot cover everyone on the perimeter. Someone is going to get an open shot. On most teams, this just doesn't matter - who are you worried about getting the open shot on the Cavs or the Magic, other than the stars? But when your backup center can drain the 3, it's a tricky situation.
I blinked and the Warriors are up 14.
Massive foul by Croshere on Baron Davis. They get up right in each other's faces, but in a game like this, nobody is going to throw that punch.
Davis is looking spry; it's ths only way to describe it. He's grinning, bouncing around, and chatting with everyone.
This is getting out of hand. The Warriors are up 19 and the Mavs just turned it over. We're far from done, but it's looking grim for Dallas. I'm actually thinking about going home before the denouement.
Dallas is getting wide-open, feet-set, straight away looks at the basket. And missing almost all of them.
Fourth quarter:
The Warriors get another uncontested layup, putting them up 25. This is beautiful basketball. Is Don Nelson a mad genius, or or the Mavs really this weak on defense?
The back-and-forth continues, but it's all Warriors: Jason Richardson has a highlight reel dunk, followed up by a monster three-pointer. How did he have such an average season? He's a big guard who can rebound and shoot the outside shot. He looks nothing like a player who shot 42% and scored 16 points per game on a mediocre team.
It's happening. I can't believe it. This game is over.
